Statement by Pam Shockley-Zalabak, Chancellor
University of Colorado at Colorado Springs
In re: Passage of Referendum C
We appreciate the support of the voters who chose to invest in the future of Colorado.
In addition to thanking the voters, I wish to express my specific appreciation to Colorado Springs Mayor Lionel Rivera and the Colorado Springs City Council, Colorado Governor Bill Owens, Pueblo’s Senator Abel Tapia, the members of the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce and the Colorado Springs Economic Development Corporation. These individuals and organizations provided exceptional leadership during a difficult campaign.
The passage of Referendum C will allow UCCS to remain accessible to those who seek a high-quality, affordable education and will allow the university to expand its role as an economic anchor for Colorado Springs.
