University of Colorado at Colorado Springs Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak issued the following statement today regarding the death of former UCCS undergraduate student Catherine (Cate) Colbert.
“On behalf of the campus community, I offer our deepest condolences to Cate’s family, friends, and classmates. To assist the campus community, university counseling services are available.”
Colbert died Nov. 12 at her off-campus residence. She was the daughter of Phillip and Raye Colbert of Salida and was a May 2008 graduate of Salida High School. She was enrolled at UCCS last year as a pre-professional programs major.
Services are pending and will be announced in coordination with the family.
