A veteran admissions officer and enrollment management specialist at public and private universities will become the first director of admissions services at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.
Randall Langston, currently director of undergraduate admission at the University of Findlay, Findlay, Ohio, will begin at UCCS Jan. 7. His appointment was announced by Steve Ellis, director, Admissions and Records, and search committee chair.
“Randall has an excellent set of skills and experiences that will help move UCCS forward in meeting admissions goals,” Ellis said. “I am extremely pleased that he will be joining us, bringing his vision, new ideas and talents complemented by a proven record of success and achievement.”
As director of admissions services, Langston will supervise undergraduate admissions processing, student recruitment, and services for international students. He will report to Robert Wonnett, interim vice chancellor, Student Success.

As director at the University of Findlay, a 4,500 student private university, Langston led enrollment management that resulted in record high freshman classes and improvements in the overall quality based on test scores, class rank and high school grade averages. He also led efforts to implement electronic communication strategies and statistical modeling as well as recruitment plans directed at increasing diversity of underrepresented groups.
Previously, Langston served as associate director and as an assistant director of admission for the University of Denver, as an admissions representative for the University of Northern Colorado, and as a summer conferences operations manager for UNC.
He earned a master’s degree in higher education administration from Texas Tech University, Lubbock, and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Sam Houston State University, Huntsville.
UCCS, located on Austin Bluffs Parkway in Colorado Springs, is the fastest growing university in Colorado, and one of the fastest growing universities in the nation. The University offers 29 bachelor’s degrees, 18 master’s, and four doctoral degrees. The campus enrolls about 7,700 students.
