SHOCKLEY NAMED <\/p>\n

UCCS CHANCELLOR <\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

BOULDER, <\/p>\n

COLO – University of Colorado President Elizabeth Hoffman announced <\/p>\n

today (Monday, May 13, 2002) that Pamela Shockley has been appointed <\/p>\n

chancellor of University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, pending the <\/p>\n

approval of the CU Board of Regents. Shockley, one of 86 national applicants <\/p>\n

for the position, has been interim chancellor CU-Colorado Springs since <\/p>\n

October, 2001<\/font><\/p>\n

"I have been <\/p>\n

very impressed with Pam’s abilities, as I have worked closely with her <\/p>\n

during the last eight months," said CU President Hoffman. "I <\/p>\n

have great confidence in her leadership, and I believe she will advance <\/p>\n

the university’s ten-year vision CU 2010." <\/font><\/p>\n

President Hoffman <\/p>\n

noted that Shockley had strong support from both the campus community <\/p>\n

and the external business community"<\/font><\/p>\n

to be selected to lead the fastest growing university in Colorado," <\/p>\n

said Shockley. "It is the culmination of my career. I look forward <\/p>\n

to continuing to advance this campus and to meeting our goal of being <\/p>\n

the educational needs of the people of southern Colorado."<\/p>\n

Shockley has served on the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs <\/p>\n

faculty for more than 26 years. Her starting salary will be $195,500.<\/font><\/p>\n

CU-Colorado Springs <\/p>\n

is the state’s fastest growing university with more than 6,800 students.<\/font><\/p>\n
