A University of Colorado at Colorado Springs faculty member will help bring holiday cheer to Colorado\u2019s Front Range and throughout the world.<\/p>\n
David Nelson, associate professor, Communication, and department chair directed \u201cHappy Holidays,\u201d a 60 minute compilation of holiday performances by various U.S. Air Force bands and music groups over a number of years. The production also includes two new music videos directed by Nelson with assistance from two UCCS students, Michelle Davenport, Monument, an Aug. 2009 graduate, and Cheri Williams, Colorado Springs senior.<\/p>\n

Performing for \u201cHappy Holidays\u201d are the U.S. Air Force Academy\u2019s Concert Band, Cadet Chorale, The Falconaires, Stellar Brass, Blue Steel and Wild Blue Country. The music videos were performed by Blue Steel, a rock band, and Wild Blue Country, a country band.<\/p>\n
The program will air on PBS affiliates around the nation as well as on the Armed Forces Network which broadcasts in 74 countries. Nelson worked in conjunction with the U.S. Air Force Band and Windstar Studios, Colorado Springs, to produce the program.<\/p>\n
The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, located on Austin Bluffs Parkway in Colorado Springs, is one of the fastest growing universities in the nation.
