University of Colorado at Colorado Springs Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak issued the following statement today regarding the death of UCCS graduate student Kevin Smoliak.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn behalf of the campus community, I offer our deepest condolences to Kevin\u2019s family, friends and classmates.\u201d<\/p>\n
Smoliak died Sept. 3. He was the son of Gerry and Gloria Smoliak, Colorado Springs.<\/p>\n
He was pursuing a graduate degree in counseling in the College of Education and was a 2008 UCCS graduate, having earned a bachelor\u2019s degree in psychology. He graduated from Rampart High School in 2002. <\/p>\n
A visitation is planned from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. tonight at Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs. A private funeral is planned.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
