The University of Colorado Foundation named Brian Winkelbauer as vice president for development, effective April 1.<\/p>\n
Winkelbauer will lead University of Colorado at Colorado Springs fundraising activities and manage the foundation\u2019s local staff of six.<\/p>\n
Winkelbauer has been senior director of development for the foundation since 2006, overseeing fundraising for CU-Boulder\u2019s campus programs. From 1993 to 2004, he served in several positions for CU-Boulder Athletics, and previously served as instrumental music teacher and director at Wasson High School, Colorado Springs.<\/p>\n
He earned a bachelor\u2019s degree in music education from CU-Boulder.<\/p>\n
\u201cWinkelbauer has shown great devotion to CU, and his fundraising acumen and leadership will bolster private support for UCCS as it continues its growth trajectory,\u201d said Wayne Hutchens, chief executive officer, CU Foundation.<\/p>\n
Winkelbauer replaces Maurin Anderson, who in 11 years at UCCS oversaw a more than tenfold increase in private support.<\/p>\n
\u201cI hope to further the relationships Maurin has developed within and beyond the UCCS family,\u201d Winkelbauer said. \u201cUCCS has become a premier Colorado institution and a vital community asset under Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak\u2019s leadership.
