An obelisk is a four-sided shaft that tapers to a pyramidal point.<\/p>\n<p>WHAT: The 20-foot-tall wooden mock-up will be placed on the Austin Bluffs Parkway median near Mallow Road to allow UCCS administration and the City of Colorado Springs to approve the design and  placement.<\/p>\n<p>WHEN: 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12. (weather permitting)<\/p>\n<p>WHERE: On the median of Austin Bluffs Parkway near Mallow Road.<\/p>\n<p>WHY: In coordination with ongoing construction at UCCS, the obelisk will provide a formal entrance to the university.
