COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. Undergraduate students enrolled at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, the United States Air Force Academy and Colorado College will come together to share their research efforts in the Second Annual Colorado Springs Undergraduate Research Forum, scheduled to occur at the Air Force Academy on Saturday, April 30, 2005. <\/p>\n
The Forum will provide undergraduate students from all three institutions the opportunity to present scholarly work in a formal academic setting with the goal of discussing topics of interest to both the University and the Colorado Springs community.<\/p>\n
The three participating institutions will sponsor nationally-recognized keynote speaker James Gallogly, CU-Colorado Springs alumnus and current CEO of Chevron Phillips Chemical Company. The events of the day will consist of student poster sessions, presentations, displays of creative work and performances by student musical groups. <\/p>\n
All CU-Colorado Springs’ students, faculty and staff are invited to register to attend the day’s activities. The event is free and open to the public, but all guests must register online at http:\/\/web.uccs.edu\/lasdean\/registration.htm no later than April 22.<\/p>\n
Prospective high school students, family of current students, community members and alumni are<\/p>\n
also welcome.<\/p>\n
“Scholarly work is a vital part of an undergraduate education,” said Tom Christensen, dean, College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. “The event offers an exciting opportunity to discover and celebrate the excellent work done by our undergraduate students.”<\/p>\n
