{"id":146,"date":"2004-09-20T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2004-09-20T07:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pressreleases.uccs.edu\/?p=146"},"modified":"2004-09-20T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2004-09-20T07:00:00","slug":"cu-colorado-springs-to-offer-ama-management-seminars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pressreleases.uccs.edu\/?p=146","title":{"rendered":"CU-COLORADO SPRINGS TO OFFER AMA MANAGEMENT SEMINARS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Colorado Springs, CO &#8212; The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, in cooperation with the American Management Association, will offer seminars leading to certificates in professional management beginning in October, university and AMA officials announced July, 2004.<\/p>\n<p>As part of an agreement between AMA and the university, CU-Colorado Springs is authorized to provide certificates under AMA&#8217;s College and University Seminar Alliance Program. The University will provide AMA-approved facilitators and instruction for individuals seeking seminars and certificates in finance, management essentials, leadership, marketing, administrative excellence and project management.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In today&#8217;s fast-changing business environment, working professionals must update their skills to compete in a global marketplace,&#8221; Dana Rocha, director, Extended Studies, said.  &#8220;This partnership with AMA will allow the university to reach out to the community and to offer proven programs.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Edward T. Reilly, AMA president and CEO, said: &#8220;AMA has launched the College and University Seminar Alliance Program to bring the benefits of our proven course content, experienced facilitators and a dynamic, interactive classroom learning model to more people.  By combining the strengths of each partner, AMA&#8217;s seminar content and course leaders, with the venues and local education market knowledge of colleges and universities   each organization will more fully accomplish its educational mission and better serve its constituents.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This partnership with AMA will allow us to quickly advance the knowledge of our faculty and instructors, educate students that meet the needs of today&#8217;s modern employers and support the mission of the College of Business to provide an innovative, learner-focused education of superior quality and value that integrates theory and practice,&#8221; Venkat Reddy, interim dean, College of Business and Administration, said.  <\/p>\n<p>Beginning in October, the CU-Colorado Springs Extended Studies Department will begin offering nineteen AMA courses at Security Service Federal Credit Union, 1485 Kelly Johnson Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80920.  The following discounts will apply to all courses offered.
