COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. \u2013 Donna Orender, recognized as one of the most powerful women in sports, will share lessons in ethical leadership during April 15 and 16 events at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs.<\/p>\n

The UCCS Daniels Fund Ethic Initiative and the UCCS PGA Golf Management Program are co-sponsors of Orender\u2019s visit. Both are part of the UCCS College of Business.<\/p>\n

A reception is scheduled for 5 p.m. April 15 in the Dwire Hall atrium. A luncheon where Orender will deliver comments is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. April 16 in Berger Hall.<\/p>\n

Prior to a career as a corporate consultant, Orender served as president of the Women\u2019s National Basketball Association for six years and in various positions including senior vice president during a 17 year stint with the Professional Golfers\u2019Association.<\/p>\n

Now, as CEO of Orender Unlimited, Orender is involved in corporate and sports-related initiatives including leading a golf industry transformation focused on women.<\/p>\n

\u201cDonna Orender is coming to share her great experiences in the business, golf and sports worlds,\u201d Mollie Sutherland, director, UCCS PGA Golf Management Program, said. \u201cShe has been very successful and she will educate our students on ethical leadership and professionalism.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMs. Orender is a dynamic speaker that engages the audience and motivates the listeners to take action. She excels at educating others how to reach customers, grow the game of golf and operate professionally in the golf industry,\u201d<\/p>\n

Orender\u2019s honors include her selection to Business Week\u2019s<\/i> Power 100 Sports issue, The Sporting News<\/i> annual Power 100 list, the Fox Sports 10 Most Powerful Women in Sports list and the March of Dimes Sports Leadership Award.<\/p>\n

She serves on the boards of the Monique Burr Foundation for Children, the V Foundation for Cancer research, W.O.M.E.N. and as co-chair of the UJA Sports for Youth Initiative. She is a graduate of Queens College, New York City.<\/p>\n

The UCCS PGA Golf Management Program is one of 19 PGA accredited golf management programs in the world.
