INTERIM UCCS CHANCELLOR
INVITED TO CAMPUS AS SOLE FINALIST

BOULDER, COLO – University of Colorado President Elizabeth Hoffman announced
today (Monday, April 22) that Pamela Shockley, interim chancellor for
the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, has been invited to
campus as the sole finalist for the permanent chancellor’s position
at CU-Colorado Springs. Shockley was one of 86 national applicants for
the position.
"I have been
very impressed with the job Pam has done for the last eight months as
interim chancellor," said CU President Hoffman, "and I look
forward to her campus visit. I am pleased that Pam is strongly supported
by both the campus and community members of the search committee."
President Hoffman
noted that Shockley will be invited to an open campus forum at which
the full campus as well as community is invited to participate. The
date of the campus forum is Monday, April 29, 2002, 9-10 a.m., room
303, UCCS University Center. Shockley will also meet with President
Hoffman, as well as campus and university administrators.
Shockley has served
on the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs faculty for more than
26 years, and has acted as interim chancellor since September 2001.
CU-Colorado Springs
is the state’s fastest growing university with more than 6,800 students.
