Stretching its reach to one of the fastest-growing economies in the world, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs College of Business recently signed an agreement to provide a non-credit graduate-level certificate in services management to students enrolled in the Europe Asia Business School based in Pune, India.
The agreement is part of the establishment of a Center for Services Excellence through a partnership with EABS and Global Talent Track, an organization focused on teaching vocational skills. Plans for the center include collaborative research and multi-disciplinary academic programs in India. Courses in the program will begin this year.
“Our efforts to expand international partnerships grow each year,” Venkat Reddy, dean, College of Business, said. “Increasing our global reach benefits our students and faculty, as well as our local community, which gains graduates having an expanded understanding of the global business environment.”
Many UCCS faculty members already participate in international teaching and research activities.
Partnerships with two additional Indian schools are in process: joint class projects and research in the area of ethics with the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad and joint faculty exchanges and research with Birla Institute of Management and Technology in New Delhi. The college has existing partnerships with business schools in Germany and Taiwan that, like UCCS, are accredited by the Association to Advance Colleges and Schools of Business International. Fewer than 5 percent of business schools worldwide hold this accreditation.
The UCCS College of Business was established in 1965 and has more than 1,300 undergraduates and 450 MBA and distance MBA students. The College of Business and Administration awards the Bachelor of Science in Business and Bachelor of Innovation degrees. The Graduate School of Business Administration awards the Master of Business Administration degree. More than 7,300 alumni of the College of Business live and work around the world.
The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, located on Austin Bluffs Parkway in Colorado Springs, is one of the fastest growing universities in the nation. The University offers 36 bachelor’s degrees, 19 master’s and five doctoral degrees. The campus enrolls about 9,000 students annually.
