COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO — More than 350 University of Colorado at Colorado Springs students will complete their studies at the end of the fall semester.
But instead of waiting until May to honor the students, the campus will have its December graduate reception at 6 p.m. Dec. 12 in University Hall.
“The number of December graduates gets larger each year. We wanted to do something for those who many not be able to attend commencement in May,” Kathy Griffith, director, University Events, said.
The event is mainly a social event for students and their guests in addition to faculty and deans. Chancellor Pamela Shockley will acknowledge the graduates and their families. Photos of the students and their families will be available for purchase.
The graduates’ names will continue to appear in the commencement program and they may also participate in the May 23 commencement ceremony.
