UCCS statement on hit-and-run incident involving student-athletes

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs is concerned about the safety and well-being of its students.

Two UCCS women’s  cross-country student-athletes suffered minor injuries this morning during a team-sponsored practice in downtown Colorado Springs. The student athletes suffered cuts, scrapes and bruises following a hit-and-run encounter with a vehicle. They were not hospitalized. The student-athletes will be evaluated by a team trainer and team physician.

The incident is being investigated by the Colorado Springs Police Department. All inquiries about the incident and investigation should be directed to CSPD, (719) 444-7000.
