COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Nutrition and its role in both disease prevention and overall health will be the focus of a free University of Colorado Colorado Springs HealthCircle presentation.
Julie Anderson, director, Peak Nutrition Clinic, will present “Nutrition for You: Strategies to Individualize Your Nutrition Plan for Optimal Health,” from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. May 5, at the Lane Center for Academic Health Sciences, 4863 North Nevada Ave. Her presentation is the second in a Community Health Education series.
Anderson will focus her presentation to adults who want to improve health with a nutrition plan that’s practical and tailored to individual goals and needs.
“There is no single perfect nutrition plan for each person, as we all have different goals, challenges and preferences when it comes to food,” Anderson said. “This lecture will provide people with practical strategies and easy-to-implement tools to enhance their overall health.”
A poor diet is associated with health risks that can cause heart disease, hypertension, type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis, certain types of cancer and premature death, even for people who are not obese, according to the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition.
This presentation will provide attendees with sensible strategies to create a nutrition plan.
