T. ROWE PRICE, CU-COLORADO SPRINGS OFFER ACCESS TO ADVANCED DEGREE

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. Earning a Master of Business Administration degree will soon be a more convenient option for employees of a local investment management firm and others who work at nearby companies.

In cooperation with T. Rowe Price, a Baltimore-based investment management firm, faculty from the CU-Colorado Springs Graduate School of Business Administration will teach courses at T. Rowe Price’s Briargate-area offices. T. Rowe Price’s Colorado Springs office is one of the firm’s primary client service and operations facilities, and employs close to 500 associates. While the university has long offered an on-line MBA program, this is the first time university faculty will teach courses on the site of a private business.

“The faculty and staff at the College of Business are excited about partnering with T. Rowe Price in offering MBA courses at their facility,” Venkat Reddy, dean, College of Business and Administration, said. “By offering courses outside our campus we are taking programs to talented employees who are trying to balance their time between work and study.”

In cooperation with T. Rowe Price management, College of Business officials designed course meeting times around employee work schedules. Courses will be offered in eight-week terms on alternating weeknights and Saturdays Courses include management, accounting, information systems, marketing and finance.

While courses will be taught in the T. Rowe Price building, 2260 Briargate Parkway, enrollment is not limited to the company’s employees. Others who work or live nearby may also enroll. Admission and degree requirements are the same as for students who earn an MBA by attending on-campus or on-line.

“There is strong interest among our associates for obtaining advanced degrees such as an MBA and we are excited that the College of Business was interested in partnering with us on a program at our facility,” said Chris Hufman, general manager of the T. Rowe Price Colorado Springs Financial Center. “Tuition reimbursement is an important employee benefit that T. Rowe Price offers, and on-site classes will make it even more convenient for associates to take advantage of the excellent program offered by CU-Colorado Springs.”

Individuals who participate in the off-site program can complete an MBA in two years with summers off. For more information, contact Amy deLourenco, director, MBA programs, 719-262-3401 or [email protected].
