COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. – University of Colorado at Colorado Springs students and United States Air Force Academy cadets are eligible to participate in the First Annual Undergraduate Conference on Research, Scholarly, Creative and Public Service Activities May 1 at the CU-Colorado Springs campus.
The conference will provide students from both institutions the opportunity to present scholarly work in a formal academic setting.
The colleges of Letters, Arts and Sciences and Engineering and Applied Science at CU-Colorado Springs and the USAFA will sponsor nationally-recognized keynote speakers, student poster sessions, presentations, and displays of creative work. Linda Nolan, dean, College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, announced the program’s creation today, March 1, and encouraged current undergraduate students to submit abstracts for presentation.
Conference participation is open to undergraduate students currently enrolled at CU-Colorado Springs or the United States Air Force Academy. All CU-Colorado Springs’ students, faculty and staff are invited to attend the day’s activities. Prospective high school students, family of current students and community members are also welcome.
“The Undergraduate Conference is designed as a celebration of excellence that recognizes the outstanding academic and creative achievements of undergraduate students at CU-Colorado Springs. A goal of this program is to highlight undergraduate research, scholarly and creative activities and campus activities that benefit the general public and the university community,” Nolan said. “We encourage our students, faculty and members of the community to attend and participate in this exciting day of research and discovery.”

The conference is designed to foster collaboration between students, faculty, and the Colorado Springs community, Nolan said.
CU-Colorado Springs, located on Austin Bluffs Parkway in northeast Colorado Springs, is the fastest growing university in Colorado and one of the fastest growing universities in the nation. The university offers 25 bachelor’s degrees, 17 master’s and two doctoral degrees. The campus enrolls more than 7,600 students annually.
