COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Theater students from The University of Colorado Colorado Springs Department of Visual and Performing Arts will present “(formerly)twobedtwobath” in conjunction with avant-garde artist Leeny Sack Nov. 12-18 at the UCCS Heller Center for the Arts and Humanities.

Performances begin at 8 p.m. nightly and will vary.

“(formerly)twobedtwobath“ is a performance art piece that focuses on sensory experience and perception of the world of the Heller Center. Spectators will walk from location to location and assess their relationship to the “performance” and the history of the location, according to event organizers. Flashlights will be provided for the outdoor event. Attendees are encouraged to dress warmly.

Visitors will have the opportunity to view a performance, to be inside a performance, and to watch a legend of experimental theatre working with talented students.

A prologue series discussion of the performance is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Nov. 18 at the Dusty Loo Bon Vivant Theatre in University Hall. Sack will lead the discussion and share details of her career in New York theater.

Tickets for both events are free but reservations are required. To reserve a seat for either event, visit  www.theatreworkscs.org.

Sack was a founding member of the famous The Performance Group in New York City and is a creator of original works and dreamscapes. She will be in residency for the entire month of November at UCCS and will help students create a new piece about interrogation and identity.

The public is invited  to view the process through various frames and scales. “Reincarnated” elements from the Heller’s original greenhouse will link ideas of past, present and future artistic relationships UCCS students are performers, creators and dreamers of the work.

To reach the Heller Center, visitors should enter from North Nevada Avenue, turning east onto North Campus Heights Road. For more information about the Heller Center or to see a map, please visit http://www.uccs.edu/~heller/contact.html
